Well, I had a simple saison recipe to make (not the Tbreds one, realized last night I didn't have carawheat or caraaroma).
Bill as such:
12.00 lbs Pilsner
0.25 lbs C60
1.50 oz Saaz @ 50 min
1.50 oz Saaz @ 20 min
1.00 oz Saaz @ 5 min
2.00 gr. Grains of Paradise @ 10 min
Expected OG- 1.057
Actual OG- 1.055 (Much closer than the last 2 batches!)
Supposed to use T-58, which I thought I had!
Already into my boil and go to grab the pack of yeast from the loft...crap...no Saison yeast. Ended up just grabbing S-04 instead as it'll make something nice and clean. Going to be a completely different beer now. Smelled great too when it was brewing (for a saison). We'll see what happens with it now! I plan on making it again with T-58 or similar Saison yeast.
4.5 hours from start to finish. Sweet. Next thing I'm going to experiment with is adjusting the crush. I think I need it a little finer, something might've gotten tweaked when I moved.
