I think we had a great first meeting last night.
Good conversation, Good beer and I think we can create something that everyone in attendance will be happy with.

The group was small, but I think it was what everyone was really looking for. We tasted some beer's from a local micro (an ale and a lager) and we also received a bottle of mead from Jay's Brewing Supply (cannot wait to taste that, it will be on the next meeting). Cory brough a HUGE assortment of beers which were all VERY tasty.

For those people that missed it, hope to see you all next time. It was a very nice enjoyable, and relaxing time talking about all things brewing and a few no so brewing.

I have an idea in the works for the next one - already ;)

I'm sorry I couldn't make it Jay! I didn't get home from work until about 6:20. I get off of work usually around 5:30 and am coming from Alexandria, thus holding me up. Next time I'll have to show up fashionably late!

I've got some brews I wouldn't mind sharing/getting feedback on!

Cheers,
Greg

I have to second that compliment to Cory. I don't generally like porters and his was quite good.
I look forward to future brewing collaborations with all that were at the meeting.
It is exciting to have a chance to chat with other people who have a similar passion for this hobby.

What I came away with from the first meeting was that there are other people who are in similar situations with regards to brewing as I am (which that itself is pretty cool) and as a group we can really help each other get better at brewing.

Sounds like a good time. Sorry I missed it. How often are the meetings going to be?

We will have meetings on a monthly basis.

Of course there a good chance of joining in with others for a weekend brew session or if a few people decided to 'try' out some new ideas in brewing. The groups direction is somewhat defined, but the sky is the limit when it comes to doing whatever facilitates brewing. I know the next time I brew I'll post here and invite anyone who wants to stop by to help, watch or whatever. The place we had the meeting can also be used to brew at if we want to so there are some possibilities there too.

I think we are going to be a 'hands on' group if the people at the meeting were any indication of what we will become.
